Ford has issued a recall for certain models of the Mustang Mach-E due to high-voltage battery issues.

The recall affects approximately 35,000 Mustang Mach-Es produced between 2020 and 2022.

The problem is with the high-voltage battery's main contactors, which can overheat after fast charging or aggressive driving.

The contactors can either lose their ability to close or get welded closed, leading to potential power loss or other issues.

The component responsible for the issue has been out of circulation since 2022 and has already been recalled once.

The previous recall included a software update, but this new recall requires a full replacement of the car's Bussed Electrical Center.

Ford states that no crashes or injuries have been reported as a result of this issue.

Owners of affected Mach-Es are advised to visit their Ford dealer for a repair and to be cautious with aggressive driving until the issue is resolved.
