One of Netflix’s big coming-of-age shows from the UK, Heartstopper, came back for a second season in August 2023. We’ve known for a long time that there will be a third season, and now we know that shooting has started. Here’s what we know so far, including some behind-the-scenes photos that give us our first look and a rough idea of when the movie will come out.
Heartstopper season 2’s release date and first look came out around the same time that news of season 3’s production came out. Just in case you missed it, all eight new episodes of season 2 dropped on Netflix around the world on August 3, 2023.
You may already know that the show is shot in England, mostly in or around London. Some of the places where the show has been filmed in the past are Twickenham Film Studios, Windsor, and Uxbridge.
Multiple sources, including UKCastingNews, say that shooting for the third season of Heartstopper will begin in October 2023. The third season was ordered along with the second season in May 2022.
The show is made by See-Saw Films, and according to ads, it will be filmed again in London, which is in the UK.
Alice Oseman, who wrote the original graphic book that the show is based on, continues to write the Netflix show, and Euros Lyn has directed every episode so far.
On October 2, 2023, Netflix UK sent out a tweet saying that work on season 3 had begun.

On October 4, we got our first look at the team shooting the new season at a beach in Lyme Regis, which is in the county of Dorset.

What should we expect from the third season of Heartstopper?
Charlie was only a line and a touch away from saying “I love you” to Nick. But before we could find out what choice Charlie made, the second season was over.
Whatever the two young people haven’t said to each other yet, they should say it in season 3.
DigitalSpy says that based on the books, the couple should move to college this season. Alice Oseman told the outlet that other characters will play a bigger part in the new season.
What does this mean for when season 3 of Heartstopper will be on Netflix?
Speculations about the release date are just that for now, but there’s no question that the series will come back at some point in 2024.
Season 2 started shooting in September 2022 and ended in December 2022. Even with a one-month delay, we think the show will be on Netflix in late summer or early fall of 2024.
