Wednesday was the day of the much-anticipated Google Pixel event, and as you might have guessed, we learned everything about the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
But we didn’t just get that. The tech giant behind Google also talked about Pixel Watch 2 and a lot of news about AI.
Here is all the information you need about the big news from the Made by Google show. Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8
Of course, I mean. Google showed off the newest version of its most popular phone. The Pixel 8 didn’t change in a big way, but it did have faster working speeds, better cameras, and Night Sight for videos.
The basic model costs $699 and comes in three different colors: Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, costs $999 and comes in three colors: Obsidian, Bay, and Porcelain.
Google said that the phone would have a lot of cool new features. Best Take was the name of one. The phone can basically combine the expressions on people’s faces from different pictures into one image. Everyone will look good because of this perk. It also lets you move things around in pictures with its Magic Editor. Google’s main goal is for your phone to make your world look as good as possible.
Alex Perry of Mashable wrote about the big phone news in all its details.
A lot of fuss about AI
Apple usually doesn’t use the phrase “artificial intelligence,” but Google really pushed AI at its event on Wednesday. It said that AI would make the Pixel Buds Pro’s camera work better and improve the clarity of the sound during talks. But that wasn’t even most of it.
Google also said that AI would help make Google Home better. AI can help you organize your pictures, videos, and other information. It also came up during the part of the talk about the Pixel Watch and Fitbit. It also said that it should help with typing, writing, and just about everything else you do in your everyday life. Google basically said that AI is improving everything that AI can improve.
The second Pixel Watch
The new version of Google’s smartwatch came out on Wednesday. The tech giant said it would have some of the best parts of Google-owned Fitbit. It has a better heart monitor, a battery that lasts longer, and a way to share in an emergency.
Google really put a lot of effort into selling the watch to people who are active. They even used a pro rock climber as a spokesperson. It also added a Safety Check, which is a feature that forces you to check in and say you’re safe. If not, it will send your position to certain people or emergency services.
It will cost you $349. It can be pre-ordered starting on Wednesday, but shipping won’t start until next week.
A person who helps Bard
Google also said that its services would grow with the help of its creative AI tool, Bard. Yes, Google had even more news about AI. Assistant with Bard is a tool that uses Bard’s creative AI to work as an assistant. It should be able to do things like go through emails, make a report from complicated information, and send messages. Assistant with Bard isn’t available to everyone yet, though. Right now, it’s only available to a small group of early users.
